Special Events

This decades-old tradition pits grades against each other in fun and fierce contests, including hallway decorating, dances, talent shows, volleyball tournaments, and other competitive events.

Each year, classes go on themed retreats to enhance their spirituality and sisterhood, culminating in a senior Kairos retreat.

Annual Father/Daughter Event—Our girls enjoy a special day with their dads or special male family members at a fun, casual event.

Mother/Daughter Senior Luncheon—This special luncheon celebrates our graduating seniors and their mothers or special female family members at a beautiful off-site venue.

Grandparents’ Day—Because grandparents mean so much to our students, we celebrate them each year with a Mass and breakfast.

Annual Mother/Daughter Event—Our girls enjoy a special day with their moms or special female family members at a fun, casual event.

Christmas Celebration—Our students recognize this special holiday with a guest at Lights Before Christmas.

Prom—Juniors and seniors enjoy a special off-campus prom and fun-filled “after prom” party in the spring.

We welcome students back to school with a fun run/walk around Ottawa Hills, music, snacks, and outdoor activities the night before classes start.

Students, parents, and alumnae share in a fall outdoor Mass to celebrate the feast of St. Ursula and SUA Sweater Day.

This fun-filled week includes themed-dress days and special treats, all to reinforce our students’ love of sisterhood and SUA!

All-school musicals, which include boys from local schools, are performed at the historic Valentine Theatre in downtown Toledo.

Our select choir performs at world-famous Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Arrows participate in several philanthropic causes throughout the year, including the following:

Breast Cancer Bowl:  The Arrows, coached by students from St. John's Jesuit High School (SJJ) and St. Francis de Sales High School (SFS), compete against girls from Central Catholic High School in a friendly "powderpuff" football game that raises funds for The Victory Center, a local breast cancer treatment center.

Volley for Vets:  Arrows coach SJJ and SFS students in a friendly volleyball fundraiser game, with proceeds going to local veterans' organizations.

Our juniors, during a special Mass at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, have their class rings or other special pieces of jewelry blessed as they officially become upperclassmen

This all-school prayer service is built around honoring Mary, the mother of God; students representing each class become the court for the May Crowing Queen, a special senior who represents the values that Mary modeled.

Held at the Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral in downtown Toledo, the Mass includes a special farewell message for the graduates and their families.

The beautiful Peristyle Theater at the Toledo Museum of Art hosts graduates and their families as their diplomas are conferred. Immediately following the ceremony, graduates gather on the Peristyle steps for a traditional class photo.
