"How marvelous it would be if … each of us could say: today I have performed an act of charity towards others!"
~ Pope Francis
Servium is the motto for all Ursuline Catholic Schools, which means: I WILL SERVE.
The WORKS OF MERCY/SERVICE Program at St. Ursula Academy is designed to help students develop a habit of concern and action for the good of all people in response to the teaching of the Gospel and the fulfillment of our baptism. Mercy is said to be a virtue influencing one's will to have compassion for, and, if possible, to alleviate another's misfortune.
Service is a lifestyle that we want our St. Ursula Academy students to carry with them after long after they leave the halls of St. Ursula Academy. Service to one another is an essential part of being human. Through acts of service, we find true compassion and love for one another. When we give our time, energy and whole self to those in need, we are living Gospel values. To be proactive, self-giving, faithful, compassionate and loving members of our world is to be an example of Christ.
