St. Ursula Academy's Lauryn Haas Named National Merit Scholarship Finalist
St. Ursula Academy (SUA) senior Lauryn Haas has been selected among approximately 15,000 students to advance as a finalist in the 61st annual National Merit Scholarship
Lauryn will continue in the competition for some 7,400 National Merit Scholarships worth $2,500 each that will be awarded beginning in March.
Approximately 1.5 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
To achieve finalists status, Lauryn proved to have an outstanding academic record throughout high school, was endorsed and recommended by SUA's principal, Nichole Flores, and earned an SAT score that confirmed her earlier performance on the qualifying test.
Congratulations, Lauryn, and good luck!
