This organization shall be known as the St. Ursula Academy Arrows Booster Club (ABC).
ARTICLE II MISSION
The St. Ursula Academy Arrows Booster Club (ABC) will support the mission of the school by promoting quality athletics and providing assistance in the development of young women and all athletic teams in their pursuit of excellence.
ARCTICLE III GOALS and OBJECTIVES
Through membership contributions, volunteers and other fundraising activities by the ABC, we will support our mission in these five areas:
Financial support of ALL sports
Youth sports awareness
Media and Community awareness
Creation/Development of the SUA Athletic Hall of Fame
Collegiate sports awareness
ARTICLE IV MEMBERSHIP
Any person in agreement with the mission of the ABC may become a member by paying dues and providing contact information in accordance with the membership levels prepared by the Executive Committee.
ARTICLE V ORGANIZATION
The Officers shall consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Officers are elected by a majority of the Board members present. Elections shall be held in the Spring of each year, and are to be effective at the beginning of the following Academic year, for a one year term.
The Executive Committee shall consist of the following voting members:
a. President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
b. St. Ursula Academy High School Principal, Assistant Principal, or President;
c. St. Ursula Academy High School Athletic Director or Assistant Athletic Director; and
d. A St. Ursula Academy High School administration/faculty member who shall serve as liaison.
The Board shall consist of the following voting members:
a. The Executive Committee;
b. Five At Large members. The goal is to elect three members from each Freshman class in the Spring to serve for the following Academic year; and
c. The immediate Past President.
Team Ambassadors shall consist of one parent from each sport for the purpose of communications and responsible representation to the ABC as a non-voting member.2
a. There will be one ambassador per sport and ambassadors are encouraged to reach out to parents of other teams (freshman, junior varsity, varsity…).
b. Serve as a liaison between the ABC and your sport while attending ABC meetings and relaying pertinent information back to team coaches/parents.
The ABC is organized to qualify as exempt under section 501c(3) as a non-profit organization within St. Ursula Academy High School.
ARTICLE VI MEETINGS
The Executive Committee shall meet on a monthly basis during the Academic year. The Boosters Board shall meet three times per Academic year. Each Team Ambassador shall be invited to the three Board meetings. A schedule for both Executive Committee and Board meetings shall be set at the first meeting of each Academic year. In addition thereto, a meeting of the Executive Committee or the Board shall be scheduled at the call of the President, or three members of the Board. All Executive Committee and Board meetings shall have minutes taken and these shall be reviewed prior to or at the next meeting of the Executive Committee or Board, respectively.
ARTICLE VII TERMS OF OFFICERS AND EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Terms of all officers shall be one (1) year.
ARTICLE VIII DUTIES OF OFFICERS
The President shall coordinate all meetings and appoint all committees.
The Vice President shall assist the President in his/her duties and preside over meetings in the absence of the President.
The Secretary shall keep minutes of all meetings and assist with correspondence as necessary.
The Treasurer shall coordinate receipt of all monies, pay all bills by the ABC and keep an accurate record of all receipts and disbursements with documentation provided for review at meetings.
The Executive Committee shall serve as the nominating committee for the Board members.
ARTICLE IX AMENDMENTS
Amendments to the constitution and bylaws shall require, for adoption, a notice in writing presented by the Secretary at the previous meeting and a majority vote of all members present.
"Roberts Rules of Order" shall govern the meetings of the ABC in cases not covered by the By Laws.
ARTICLE X DISSOLUTION
Upon the dissolution of the organization, assets shall be distributed to St. Ursula Academy High School as an exempt purpose within the meaning of section 501c(3) of 3
the Internal Revenue Code or corresponding section of any future federal tax code or as otherwise legally required.
We operate as a non-profit organization on behalf of St. Ursula Academy High School.
Our purpose is to assist the athletic programs at St. Ursula Academy High School and Junior Academy.
A Board member shall serve as Chairman of each Committee. The Chairman or duly appointed representative shall provide the Executive Committee with a report in person or in writing at each Executive Committee meeting. The Chairman of each Committee shall be appointed at the first Board meeting of each Academic year.
Committees will be formed periodically to address goals and objectives of the organization. The current Committees of the SUA Booster Club shall be as follow:
a. The Golf Outing;
b. Hall of Fame;
c. Membership/Marketing/Ambassador Liaison;
d. March Madness/Monte Carlo; and
e. Strategic Planning/New Ideas.
