SUA Teacher Earns Diocesan Golden Apple Award
Amy Muszynski

Toledo—St. Ursula Academy is proud to announce that Amy Muszynski '04, a Junior Academy social studies teacher, earned the prestigious Golden Apple Award from the Diocese of Toledo for excellence in teaching.

Muszynski, a 2004 graduate of St. Ursula, earned a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Toledo before returning to her alma mater to teach.  She was instrumental in establishing SUA’s Junior Academy in 2011, where she now teaches grades 6-8.

Muszynski said, “I am honored to be one of the winners of the Golden Apple Award, especially while teaching at my alma mater, St. Ursula Academy. It is a testimonial to the hard work that my fellow JA team puts forth for our students. At the end of the day, everything that educators do is for their students, and St. Ursula Academy really has the best students. I am truly blessed to work with these young women daily.”

Known as “Miss M.,” Muszynski’s nomination from a parent cited her excellence in drawing in students to lessons through her enthusiasm, as well as her ability to get to know each student individually.  Mary Werner, SUA’s president, noted that Muszynski is “passionate, caring, devoted, and deeply committed to teaching and living the Catholic faith.”  Principal Nichole Flores added that students are “actively engaged in her classes.”

Muszynski is a member of St. Rose parish in Perrysburg.
