Self Care: Yemoja Marotta '05

Yemoja Marotta '05 is a "serial entrepreneur" who combines cosmetology and life coaching to celebrate self-care within her clients. She earned a Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree from Bowling Green State University, concentrating in Women's Studies. She relocated to Houston in 2010 and began building her professional coaching practice with Institute of Professional Excellence (iPEC). She earned her Certified Professional Coach certificate and a Professional Coaching Certification from the International Coaching Federation. In 2011, she joined M.A.C. Cosmetics and, in 2020, obtained her cosmetology license to expand her professional beauty career.

Her work as a coach and cosmetologist stems from her passion for empowering women to feel beautiful inside and out.  "Self-care is accepting and loving yourself from the inside out. Self-care is leadership in taking a personal initiative to care for you."  Yemoja encourages her clients to invest in their personal development by providing one-on-one and group coaching services, in addition to cosmetology services and classes.

"I no longer believe when you look good, you feel good. My beauty and wellness business allows me to help clients express their beauty from the inside out and promote lasting confidence with my clients. Connecting with women of all ages has granted me the opportunity to serve my clients' inward and outward agenda; my beauty services are the cherry on the top of my coaching relationships. I love what I do, and although I am still new to entrepreneurship, I am enjoying my journey."

Yemoja offers her beauty and wellness services both virtually and in person. She can be contacted via email at yemojalouise@tdbdreamlife.com or on Instagram at @yemojalouise and @thinkdobedreamlife.
