Inside SUA: Sara Westrick

Sara Westrick
The Learning Commons (TLC) Coordinator, Science Faculty

How long have you been a part of the SUA community?
This is my sixth year at SUA.

What is your position/affiliation to SUA?
TLC Coordinator and Science Faculty

What are you most proud of being affiliated with SUA?
I am proud to be affiliated with SUA for so many different reasons! If I had to choose just one reason, it would be the incredible achievements of our students. I am continuously inspired and awe-struck by the immense talent and dedication we have in our school community. Whether it's their exceptional performances in the musical, their passion and skill on the dance team, their outstanding academic accomplishments, the school spirit I see at each year’s intramurals, or the remarkable projects students create in the classroom, I am truly amazed by all that our girls can achieve. I am never too humble to share with people the amazing things I see the girls accomplish.

What SUA Core Value is most meaningful to you, and why?
Among the Core Values, "Openness to Change" resonates with me the most. As someone who has dedicated her life to lifelong learning, I find it inspirational that we also instill this same attitude in the young ladies we teach each day.

How she has impacted students:
“Mrs. Westrick is such a caring and smart educator and person, and she has a sense of humor and personality of gold. She is always there whether you need help with Honors Anatomy, English, or life advice. She is very welcoming and kind to anyone who comes to her, no matter the grade level or topic of discussion. Overall, she is the person I trust and appreciate the most in this school, and she has been a constant in my education.”
