Laura Short
Faculty, Leadership Coach
How long have you been a part of the SUA community?
Three years
What is your position/affiliation to SUA?
Teacher, Leadership Coach, Musical Stage Supervisor, and Assistant Director
What are you most proud of being affiliated with SUA?
Being part of the exceptional faculty and staff "family" at SUA is a true honor and blessing. In addition, being a part of the Leadership Program has been one of my most rewarding experiences. Witnessing the ripple effect of our students' growth is incredibly inspiring. Empowered to find their best selves, they share their core values and character strengths, transforming themselves and the school, community, and world.
What SUA Core Value is most meaningful to you, and why?
Among SUA's core values, "Care of the Individual" resonates most deeply with me. Seeing how we empower each young woman to discover and cultivate her unique strengths and passions is genuinely inspiring.
How she has impacted students:
"Mrs. Short is a fantastic teacher and one of the most supportive people I have ever met. Getting to know her through the musical's stage crew just introduced me to how dedicated and passionate she is about her job. She carries out her actions with love and good intentions.
I had never felt so comfortable or welcomed in a classroom environment until I had her for the Leadership class during my sophomore year. I am grateful every day to have her in my life as not only a teacher, but also as a mentor."
