Inside SUA: Caroline Jardine

Caroline Jardine
Visual Art Faculty

How long have you been a part of the SUA community?
I have been at SUA for five years.

What is your position at/affiliation to SUA?
I am an art teacher.

What are you most proud of being affiliated with SUA?
I am proud to be a part of a community that empowers young women. The students in my classroom are capable and driven learners. I am proud to be a trusted adult in their life who works alongside them as they access their full potential and grow as both an artist and person.

What SUA core value is most important to you and why?
The SUA core value of Openness to Change is one that I ask students to practice every day. Art is a tool that we use to examine the world, share our experiences, collaborate with others, express who we are, and solve problems. I ask that students enter the classroom with an open mind because that is the only way we can make true and authentic art.

How she impacts students...
"Ms. Jardine has continuously inspired and helped me learn and develop some of my many passions. She really is the best example of what an educator should be. As a student, it's so important to have good influences surrounding you, and Ms. Jardine has been that one influence who has shaped me the most. She is so patient and kind, and you can tell she loves what she does. Walking into her room always brightens my day, and I always look forward to her unconditional support and joy in our classroom."
