Linda Savercool (Yodzis)
Teacher, American Literature and AP English
How long have you been a part of the SUA community?
20 years.
What is your position at/affiliation to SUA?
I am a teacher, and my three daughters graduated from SUA: Megan '05, Michelle '09, and Leah '13.
What are you most proud of being affiliated with SUA?
I would have to say the long-standing tradition of Ursuline education in Toledo. I love the fact that I have the daughters of former students.
What SUA core value is most important to you, and why?
Community. I wish we could bring back the Cherry Blossom Festival!
How she has impacted her students...
“I first learned the writing and analytical skills I practice every day in Mrs. Savercool’s classroom. She taught the Ursuline staff to pay attention to detail, choose active verbs, and use concise language—skills I now apply to legal writing. The projects she assigned sparked my creativity and class discussions challenged me to critique my own arguments. Mrs. Savercool encouraged my love for writing, which led me to pursue journalism and then law school.”
