Take inspiration from Stella Yackee, a 2021 graduate. When she was in elementary school, several friends whom she played travel volleyball with planned to attend an all-girls school. Joining the plan, Yackee ventured from All Saints in Rossford to St. Ursula Academy, where she felt the atmosphere was light, bubbly, and fun. Yackee’s confidence blossomed during her time at SUA, preparing her not just for college, but also for life. Living just down the street from former principal Nichole Flores, Yackee carpooled with Mrs. Flores and her youngest daughter during her freshman year. Yackee played volleyball in her first two years at SUA.
Though her path has changed since graduation, Yackee has remained steadfast in her determination to graduate from the University of Toledo in 2025. She shared that she felt well prepared for college because of SUA’s block schedule. After graduating, she initially pursued Nursing, but her journey later led her to Communications and Marketing. Her SUA experience on the volleyball team ignited her passion for physical and mental wellness, leading her to pursue certifications as a Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Wellness Trainer.
Yackee is happy with her career choice. She identified several initiatives to meet her goals, including offering guidance, motivation, support, and encouragement to others, all of which are traits she developed as a student at SUA. Her advice to graduating seniors is simple, but profound: "Don't worry, panic, or force anything. Let things come as they are." Yackee is making an impact on the world through health and wellness. She enjoys seeing her fellow Arrow sisters at the University of Toledo campus events and sand volleyball games, as well as on social media.
