Jennifer (Emmenecker) Vanderham ’86 has always been a great team member. As a student, she was a member of the 1983 Swim Team that won the Division I Girls State Championship. After graduation, Jenni attended Eastern Michigan University for a semester before enlisting in the United States Air Force, stationed in Alaska. Eventually she lived on the west coast, where she started her family. Jenni remembers the support she received from her SUA sisters when her mom was battling cancer. Those friendships remain.
Jenni returned to the Toledo area and has found a place where she can positively impact her home community. She is the Director of Internal Operations for a regional State of Ohio-certified Minority Business Enterprise and Women-Owned Business Enterprise restoration and construction business. In this role, she can be found downtown managing the activities to improve properties across northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Jenni is on a team whose largest completed project was transforming the former Wonder Bread factory into modern-day condominiums.
This SUA Hall of Famer gives our students this advice: “Be open to your future—it's a long road that has wonderful unknown twists and turns that are so rewarding.”
