Arrows Making an Impact: Delaney Aossey ’18

Delaney Aossey and her twin sister Brynn Aossey—2018 graduates—came to St. Ursula Academy from the Anthony Wayne school district as freshmen. They eventually participated in volleyball, swimming, and crew. Delaney readily admits being shy initially, but because of her sister being with her at school, she was comfortable enough to open up. During her first year, she met one of her closest friends, Kylee Harris ’18, who also helped to bring her out of her shell. With each year and experience, she gained confidence and a solid friendship group. Delaney took an accounting class with Mrs. Antonio; she liked it so much that she also took the Women in Business and Finance classes. Upon graduation, she became an intern at a local bank, where she worked while attending the University of Toledo. Delaney later became an intern at a larger, more prominent financial institution and joined a co-educational business fraternity.

Delaney has learned lessons by pursuing internships. She knows that it is important to apply for opportunities, even if there are only a few duties that fit one’s skill and knowledge level. Currently, Delaney is completing a co-op experience. Afterward, she will decide between a career in finance or accounting. Because of these internships, she will be able to make an educated decision based on her first-hand experiences.
