Two SUA Alumnae Receive YWCA Milestone Awards
St. Ursula Academy

Two dedicated St. Ursula Academy alumnae recently earned the prestigious YWCA Milestone Award 2022: A Tribute to Women, presented yearly to women who stand out in business, education, creative, and service fields. Those who earn the awards have been nominated by their colleagues and peers for extraordinary work.

The president of SUA, Mary Conlisk Werner ’74, earned the award in the Education category. In each nomination, she was praised for her leadership and business skills, along with her dedication to encouraging young women to become more confident, well-rounded, and service-oriented. Werner is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Bowling Green State University with a master's degree in Organization Development. She is also a certified Executive Coach.

Before becoming president of her alma mater, Werner was a Certified Public Accountant, a partner in her firm, and a business owner. She is the mother of three SUA alumnae, as well: Sarah '01, Lisa '03, and Emily '05. 

Marsha Manahan ’73 earned a Milestone Award in the Business category. She serves as vice president of Fifth Third Bank, leading the Trust Group. Her professional affiliations include the Toledo and Ohio State Bar Associations, the State Bar of Michigan, and the Toledo Estate Planning Council. She has been the Board Chair and a Board member for SUA, the SUA Foundation, and the St. Ursula Convent Foundation. Manahan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and French from Vanderbilt University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo College of Law.
