St. Ursula Academy freshman Kathryn Amend earned a Third-Place award in Division II of the Toledo Bar Association’s 2020 Caty Armstrong Memorial Law Day Essay Contest. Amend wrote about the 19th Amendment (women's right to vote), which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. Amend was one of only nine winners.

For her essay, Amend will receive a plaque and monetary award.

Amend is a member of SUA’s Mock Trial team and is the daughter of Eric and Lisa Amend.
