SUA Senior earns National Merit Scholarship Honor
St. Ursula Academy

Toledo—St. Ursula Academy senior Grace Anne Poturalski earned semifinalist honors in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program.

According to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, fewer than one percent of U.S. high school seniors earn this level of recognition, and these students represent the highest-scoring entrants in each state. More than 1.6 million juniors in approximately 22,000 high schools across the country entered this program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test in 2017. These seniors may continue in the competition to earn approximately 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $31 million; the scholarships will be offered next spring.

At SUA, Poturalski is also a varsity soccer player. Last spring, she earned Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction status from The College Board. A Sylvania resident, she is the daughter of Allan and Kristin Poturalski.

St. Ursula Academy, founded in 1854, is Toledo’s oldest, fully accredited, all-female, Catholic college preparatory school; it serves students in grades six through twelve. SUA offers a full complement of honors and Advanced Placement classes, 13 varsity sports, and outstanding fine and performing arts programs.
