SUA Mock Trial team competes in the District OCLRE Mock Trial competition
St. Ursula Academy

The SUA Mock Trial team competed on Friday, January 18, 2019, in the District OCLRE Mock Trial competition at the Toledo Municipal Courthouse. Both the Defense and Prosecution teams performed extraordinarily well. The Prosecution team of attorneys Caroline Goetz and Julia Edwards supported by witnesses Amira Mohamed and Grace Ruggiero faced off against the defense team from Maumee Valley Country Day School. Caroline Goetz was able to successfully impeach a witness through quick thinking and organization of evidence. In this trial Amira Mohamed was awarded best witness for her portrayal of Eli Moss.

The SUA Defense team of attorneys Taylor Boyer and Sarah Brown supported by witnesses Veronica Eichbauer and Madelyn Jeffrey faced off against the prosecution from Southview High School. Taylor Boyer showed spectacular tenacity in her quick and logical arguments to win the majority of her objections through debate with opposing counsel. In this trial Madelyn Jeffrey was awarded best witness for her portrayal of expert Dr. Parker Monroe.
