Toledo, OH—St. Ursula Academy continues its tradition of presenting outstanding musical theater productions with Jesus Christ Superstar, the beloved Broadway musical that interprets the last days of the life of Jesus.  With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, the show will be presented at Toledo’s historic Valentine Theatre Jan. 23-26, 2020.

Under the direction of Kirsten Hinshaw, an SUA alumna who is also the Director of Performing Arts at the school, the famous musical features nearly 80 students from grades 8-12.

Hinshaw said, “Jesus Christ Superstar is a moving rock opera about the final days of Jesus Christ.  Our production is full of God's love, and followers of the Christian faith or musical theatre lovers will enjoy the storytelling and grit behind this production.  We also celebrate the talents of two senior females in the roles of Jesus and Judas who are both college theater-program bound.”

Jesus Christ Superstar will be performed on Thursday, Jan. 23, at 8:00 p.m.; on Friday, Jan. 24, at 8:00 p.m.; on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 8:00 p.m.; and on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 2:00 p.m.

The Valentine Theatre is located at 410 Adams Street in downtown Toledo.
