
PRINCETON MODEL CONGRESS TRIP A SUCCESS!
Students from St. Ursula Academy recently traveled to Washington D.C. to participate in the Princeton Model Congress 2007. The annual event held November 15 - 18 brings together over 1,000 high school delegates from across the United States to write bills and present them in either House or Senate committees. The bills are then debated, amended and voted upon. Grace Ammons '11, Meg Brunner '08, Cori Gleckler '10, Abi Lambert '10, Beth Mallory '08, Sam Paczynski '08, Kasey Rahn '09, Morgan Schneider '10, Ellen Searles '08, Amelia Wolf '10, Valeri Wolf '10, Liz Yaslik '08 and Veronica Zimmerman '11 were the delegates from St. Ursula Academy.
Beth Mallory, Kasey Rahn, Ellen Searles and Liz Yaslik were reporters for the Princeton Model Congress Press Corps and published in three issues of The Congress Daily. At the end of the busy four-day convention, awards were given to delegates showing outstanding participation in their committees. Beth Mallory received Honorable Mention for Press Corps, Valeri Wolf received Honorable Mention for Red House Science and Technology, and Liz Yaslik received the Gavel Award for Press Corps. Miss Rachel Jesko and Mr. Dennis Maas, St. Ursula instructors, served as advisors and traveled to Washington D.C. with the students.
