LABRE

Labre (pronounced labra) is a program named after St. Benedict Joseph Labre, Patron of the homeless, and is an outreach to the hungry. Each Monday, students and moderators from St. Ursula and St. John's meet to put together simple meals.

After a short prayer service, they load into vans and head into the city. Food is distributed, fellowship is encouraged, and stories are shared. Rain or shine, balmy or frigid, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and every other old ordinary Monday. This is a tremendous commitment and one you can easily support! E-mail Mr. Dubielak to get the permission slip which needs to be on-file before you can go.

Parent/family involvement:

Every Monday we serve 6-8 casseroles (preferably homemade) to our "guests" at our 2 current stops. The people we serve love, but rarely get, homemade food, so they consider this a real treat. If you like to cook and think this is a possibility for you, please consider joining Labre in this way. Here's what you would need to do:

Sign up to provide a casserole on any Monday that is convenient for you. Use this link to signup: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a0e4faeae2ea46-ca...
