St. Ursula Academy cares about each student and provides her with the resources she needs to set and achieve her academic goals. Our pre-professional programs provide opportunities for students to participate in:
Women in Health Science Professions
St. Ursula Academy partners with The University of Toledo College of Medicine to offer Women in Health Science Professions. This monthly program is designed to expose a select group of students to the wide range of career options in health sciences and to provide them with an opportunity to observe the clinical aspects of health care in the teaching environment. Students are selected based on academics, faculty recommendation, and a personal statement. Participants are required to arrange and complete a six-hour shadowing experience with a female health care professional and research a topic related to their shadowing experience to be presented before a panel of professionals.
Women in Business
The Women in Business program is designed to expose a select group of students to the wide range of career option in the business field and to provide students with an opportunity to explore different aspects of business in a teaching environment. Participants are selected based on academics, faculty recommendation, and a personal interview. In addition to course meetings, each student helps run the St. Ursula Academy Spirit Store, also known as The Quiver, and develops a business portfolio.
Career Exploration Experience (C.E.E.)
Prior to senior year, all St. Ursula Academy students participate in our Career Exploration Experience. This program provides an opportunity for students to complete a comprehensive career experience, which is designed to assist the student in selecting and developing college and career options. The C.E.E. program requires a minimum of 18 hours of professional career mentoring. Upon completion, students submit a summary profile highlighting their experience. A culminating interview provides experience with other necessary skills needed to ensure our students future success in college and in today’s fast-paced workplace.
