Soli Deo Gloria, a Latin phrase meaning "For the Glory of God Alone," was at the very foundation and heart of St. Angela Merici's life and ministry. Anything she said or did was for God's glory, not her own.
The Ursuline Sisters have a long history and tradition of keeping this motto before those who embrace St. Angela's spirit. "Soli Deo Gloria" is embedded throughtout the writings of St. Angela who says, "You will see marvelous things, if you direct everything to the praise and glory of his Majesty and the good of souls."
God was Angela's one and only desire and all she did, she did for God's honor and glory alone.
