A Message from the President

October 1, 2013 marked the first anniversary of my joining St. Ursula Academy and Junior Academy as President. I spent that week, just as I had the year prior, welcoming over 400 eighth graders into our halls at our High School Visitation. My emotions were soaring, just like last year. But this year was a bit different, even more powerful. You see, over this past year I have witnessed from inside these halls, all of the qualities that make SUA such a special place: outstanding academics, a focus on spiritual and personal growth, and the genuine care of the whole person. These aren’t just words or marketing hype. It is REAL. If you are a 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th grader (or a prospective parent), how could you not want this experience!

And just to drive this incredible feeling home, on Saturday, October 12th, St. Ursula Academy inducted its first class into the St. Ursula Academy Athletic Hall of Fame. Inductees included the 1983 State Championship Swim Team, Sarah Florian Iceman ‘04 (Volleyball), Anna Volberg ’03 (Tennis), Hayley Wiemer Bradford ’05 (Softball) and SUA Volleyball Coach John Buck who, over the course of the last 18 years, has led his teams to two state championships and three state runners up. Yes, their athletic accomplishments were phenomenal. But to a person, each of their remarks reflected with gratitude on the sisterhood, the leadership lessons, the teamwork and yes, the overall joyful experience of being educated here at St. Ursula Academy.

Two experiences, with each a confirmation of why we are so lucky to be SUA alumnae.

Go arrows!

Soli Deo Gloria!

Mary (Conlisk) Werner '74, President

3rd Annual Serata di Gala - Roman Holiday

We are less than three weeks away from our grand fundraiser, Serata di Gala - Roman Holiday. There is still time to RSVP and you can do it online today!  This event is vital to the school because all proceeds support our Scholarship Fund which provides over 75% of our families financial assistance so their daughters/granddaughters can obtain an Ursuline education, just like you did.  The evening includes hors d'oeuvres and dinner provided by Mancy Brothers' Catering, live music provided by "RSO Band", featuring current parent, Jim Wheeler, student performances and a cash bar. Tickets are $80 per person and the evening begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends around midnight. Please contact Michelle Moses if you prefer to mail in your reservation or if you have any questions.  If you would like to be a Sponsor or donate an item for the Auction, the deadline is this Friday, October 18.  Forms can be found online or by contacting Michelle Moses.
